WHY DUAL LANGUAGE?

  • Students in dual language consistently outperform their peers on state-mandated tests, regardless of their background.
  • Bilingual adults have higher average salaries and greater career opportunities.
  • A multi-lingual brain is quicker and more resistant to Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia
The Seal of Biliteracy - This is an award given by a school, school district, or county office of education in recognition of students who have studied and attained proficiency in two or more languages by high school graduation. Appearing on the transcript of the graduating senior the Seal of Biliteracy is a statement of accomplishment for future employers and for college admissions.

Program Duration
Extended amount of time is needed to fully develop second language academic proficiency. A minimum of 5- 7 years. Parents agree to this time commitment in the program.

Program Goals
Bilingualism and biliteracy, high levels of proficiency in English and a second language.
Multicultural competency, Understanding of different cultures and development of high self esteem.
50/50 program, students are taught Reading, Math, and all other subject areas in both English and Spanish beginning in Transitional Kindergarten/Kindergarten.
