Dual Language Academy

Dual language in the elementary setting is an immersive 50/50 program designed to foster biliteracy and academic excellence. In this unique setting, students benefit from having two dedicated teachers—one instructing in English, the other in Spanish. Every day, students receive instruction in Spanish language arts and English language arts, while Math instruction is conducted in one language daily, providing a comprehensive and balanced learning environment for our youngest students.

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month in September

  1. Preservation of Heritage: Dual language programs offer Spanish-speaking families the opportunity to preserve and celebrate their cultural and linguistic heritage. Children have the chance to develop proficiency in Spanish while also gaining English language skills, ensuring they maintain a strong connection to their roots.

  2. Bilingual Advantage: By participating in a dual language program, Spanish-speaking children gain the invaluable advantage of bilingualism. Being fluent in both Spanish and English opens up a world of opportunities, both academically and professionally, and enhances cognitive abilities.

  3. Enhanced Academic Performance: Research shows that bilingual students often outperform their monolingual peers academically. Dual language programs provide a strong foundation in literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking skills in both languages, setting students up for academic success.

  4. Cultural Understanding: Dual language education promotes cross-cultural understanding and appreciation. Children learn to navigate and respect diverse perspectives, fostering empathy and global citizenship.

  5. Community and Support: Dual language programs often cultivate a supportive community among Spanish-speaking families, providing a network of support and resources for both parents and children as they navigate the educational journey together.

Enrolling in a dual language program offers Spanish-speaking families the opportunity to embrace their language and culture while equipping their children with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.
