Frosh: Pacheco defeats Central Valley

The Varsity Hawks got back on track with a must-have win this past Friday night at CV.  The Hawks came out strong and built a solid lead in the first few quarters.  The Panthers were able to cut the deficit to single digits in the 3rd quarter and the entire 2nd half became a battle.  CV was able to hold on and pick up the crucial league win by the score of 58-53.  CV was led by Manny Carranza 21pts 11rebs, 2stls, Jace McLennon 19pts, 2rebs, 2ast, 3stls, and Andre Flores 9pts, 10rebs, 4ast, 2stls.  The win puts the Hawks overall record at 12-11 overall and 6-3 in the WAC.  The Hawks are locked up in a 3rd place tie with Johansen with 5 league games to go.  The top 3 finishers in the WAC will receive automatic playoff berths, so the home stretch promises to be exciting.  The Hawks will begin their quest for a playoff bid tonight when they travel to Beyer to take on the 1st place Patriots.  Game times are 4:30pm/6:00pm/7:30pm.
